Finally, I have seen these brands in person!

If you're like me, a working student on a budget (a.k.a. broke) who loves makeup, then you can relate to the feeling of seeing items on social media that you can just dream of having. Y'know, these beauty products that seem to take on the world by storm but are never available here in the Philippines except for resellers? Or online shops with exorbitant shipping fees? Or not being sure if the items are legit enough?

Well, worry not.

SM Aura just opened LOOK, a beauty store that carries renowned brands like Fenty, Kylie Cosmetics, The Ordinary, and CeraVe yesterday, October 30.

Lucky me, our errand day is Saturday so I not-so-forcefully dragged my partner to SM Aura to take my pictures. Hehe.

So, here's what's inside the beauty store + prices and a few observations.

First, the obligatory "I was here" photos. Rest assured we practiced all appropriate safety measures! (Fun fact: I was wearing a full face of makeup lol)

What I noticed was that there were no testers, samplers, or even opened products that can show you what's inside or what it looks like. Considering the pandemic, I think that's fair, but damn, I miss makeup testers. Those used to satisfy my "need to buy this now" craving but now all I can do is either research extensively to see if it's worth the buy or take the risk of buying it and not liking it.

Okay, now to the products!

1. Fenty Beauty

I am not exactly sure what the regular price point of Fenty Beauty is, but is still too steep for me.

I was specifically looking for the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer and the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter but unfortunately those weren't available.

The available items as of October 31st are:

1. Match Stix Matte Skinstick

2. Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

3. Match Stix Matte Skinstick Trios (pictured below)

If there would be more items available, ie the ones I am looking for, then maybe, justttt maybe I will buy one or two. Just to try it out. :)

2. Kylie Cosmetics

Kylie Cosmetics also made a beautiful appearance here, but none of her latest collections, I think.

Here are the ones I saw on display:

Prices are not really a surprise for me, as this was the usual price that I have seen from resellers and at this moment, I really am not that ready to splurge 3000 on a lippie that may not even wear everyday... and also because I have a huge lippie collection that I need to show some love. :D

3. Glossier

Now, on to dear darling Glossier. I badly wanted to see these in person because of the EB Advance Power Paint issue... but yeah.. hmm. Let's just say the issue is not unfounded hehe.

Can't wait to try this makeup line! Most products are available but the area was a bit too crowded for my liking so I just sneaked in these teeny pictures. :D

4. CeraVe

The skincare line we have grown to crave, thanks to those skincare guys Hyram and James, also makes an appearance here although it was quite hard to find! The moisturizers were near the LOOK Ballon and under it were the cleansers. I didn't understand the placement, but hey, they are here! And they are HUGE!! I'd say out of all the skincare items I have seen, this looks worth every damn centavo!! Just make sure to use it before the expiration dates, okay? :D

5. Summer Fridays

This is a brand that I have just kinda heard about, but it still kind of resonated in my head so I took a photo, might come useful to you guys!

6. The Ordinary

And okay, alright!!! Here's the skincare line everyone is RAVING about that I actually got one (Not here, but from Hermosa Beauty***)!

Here's the price range, and honestly, it's not that bad. Most of the products in the skincare line is available as well.

The items are just kinda all over the place, so make sure you check every nook and cranny of the place before you say quits. ;)

But aside from all these international brands, they also carry pretty accessible brands at LOOK such as COSRX, VT Cosmetics, Innisfree, Ellana Minerals Cosmetics, Leaders, Farm Kosmetics, Phillips, Maybelline, L'Oreal, and others.

For me, this is a great way to bring today's generation's skincare and makeup faves.

Have you dropped by LOOK SM Aura? What are your thoughts? Share in the comments! :)

P.S. Sorry for the raw and weird angled photos, I was trying to get pics as fast as I can because it was already getting late. :)

Been using Cetaphil's Bright Healthy Radiance line for about a week now, and I am loving the effects so far!
I've been waking up with a plump "chok chok" skin without it feeling greasy or sticky! Definitely a step up from my regular skincare.
The body soap leaves my skin clean without feeling tight, the toner doesn't sting or dry my face out because it is alcohol-free, and the creams are easily absorbed by my skin!
Personally, my favorite is the night cream as it is kind of a gel-cream consistency that feels so relaxing when I apply it during my bedtime skincare routine! Bonus points that I have lessened my routine from 25 minutes to 7 minutes too. 😉
This line by @cetaphilbrighthealthyradiance star ingredients are ✨Niacinamide (for brightening) and 🌸 Sea Daffodil (for soothing). Combined with the gentleness which Cetaphil is known for, this makes this line derma-approved!
Check my IG stories on how to use this and check my blog to see where you can purchase + an in depth review. Link in bio! 🙂

Ever since I discovered Niacinamide from that skincare guy from Youtube (comment if you know him!), I have been on the lookout for it in the products I try!
Niacinamide is one of the best ingredients that can help with evening out our skin tone and making sure all those dark spots finally leave.
So when Cetaphil sent their new Bright Healthy Radiance line, I was super excited because Niacinamide is TOP THREE on all the ingredients list! That means their soap, toner, and creams have the maximum potency!
Not only that, as a brand known for being gentle on the skin, they added sea daffodil which boosts the skin's hydration without sacrificing the skin barrier!
No more tingly and ouchy feeling just to get bright and radiant skin, because @Cetaphil got you!
If you're still not convinced, this line also has SPF 15 and is virtually fragrance-free!

Nacific's latest release got me flaunting my glowy skin!

Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, AHA, BHA, and 70% Watermelon Extract, this makes my skin so fresh and moist, that it looks (and feels) healthier and tighter! If you have sensitive and dry skin, give this a try!

Nacific is a Korean skincare brand that believes in the power of nature to provide comfort and relaxation to the skin with healthy ingredients. They aim for the following:

- Clear and purely from nature, but trendy

- Simple, but reliable

- Reasonable and effective

While I would say that this is quite a lot of expectations from a brand, I believe Nacific is able to do that through its products. They have a myriad of product lines that are developed for very specific skincare concerns. As of the moment, they have Pink AHA BHA (top right), Fresh Cica Plus Clear (top middle), Phyto Niacin Whitening (top left), Fresh Herb Origin (bottom middle), Real Floral Calendula, Glow Intensive, Real Floral Rose, Jeju Artemisia Essence, Nutrition Herb Origin, and a couple bar soaps.

A couple of weeks ago, the Review Hunters* team reached out to me about Nacific Philippines. Turns out, I was one of lucky creators chosen to try out the latest Nacific line, Pink AHA BHA! Having had a great experience with their Fresh Herb Origin line, I said yes and here we are!

AHA, BHA, Watermelon Extract, Pink Calamine, Hyaluronic Acid, and Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract are the main ingredients of this set.

1. AHA

AHA means "alpha hydroxy acid", and it is a water-soluble acid that helps exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. AHAs can help with mild hyperpigmentation like age spots, melasma, and scars. It can also help minimize pores, fine lines, and surface wrinkles, while also evening out the skin tone.

2. BHA

BHA means "beta hydroxy acid", which is an oil-soluble acid that helps exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. Unlike AHAs, BHAs can get deeper into the pores to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. It is recommended for acne and sun-damaged skin concerns.

3. Watermelon Extract

Watermelon Extract can come from either the pulp or the seed, but both have powerful antioxidant properties from its potassium, Vitamins A, C, and B, amino acids, and lycopene content. It can help restore the skin to a more vibrant, firm, and youthful glow. Watermelon extract can also help minimize the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots.

4. Pink Calamine

Pink Calamine has anti-inflammatory properties from zinc oxide, which can help relieve skin irritation, plant allergies, and infections. Its medicinal properties date back to Ebers Papyrus and ancient Ayurvedic manuscripts

5. Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a  natural humectant which means it helps keep moisture on the skin. Amazingly, it can hold up to 1,000 times its molecular weight in water. It helps minimize skin texture like lines and wrinkles and also helps keep the skin barrier strong. Another highlight of this ingredient is that it can help lighten dark spots and pimple scars. Hyaluronic Acid is best for dry skin but can help regulate oil glands for oily skin.

6. Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract

Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract comes from sea buckthorn which is a good source of vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, lycopene, phytosterols, and numerous phenolic compounds. It has a noticeable soothing effect on the skin, It can also help signal the sebum/oil glands to reduce the production of excess sebum, helps fade acne scars, heals blemishes, gives you a smooth skin texture, skin hydration, and encourages the production of more collagen.

They sent me the toner and serum, and I will buy the cream on my own so that I can have the full experience :D

Nacific Pink AHA BHA Toner

150ml bottle, hard plastic

Contains AHA, BHA, 70% Watermelon Extract, and Pink Calamine. This toner claims to remove dead skin while still keeping the skin hydrated. I like that it has a foil seal, which assures me that this has not been tampered with. Very watery, and I'm okay with the feel on my skin. It has the same refreshing feeling as eating watermelons but on my skin if that makes sense? Overall a good product, and would purchase it once I run out.

Retails for 1000 pesos but is usually on sale for 20% off.

Price: P800

Nacific Pink AHA BHA Serum

50ml bottle, thick plastic with glass dropper

Contains AHA, BHA, 70% Watermelon Extract, and Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract. Has a light, citrusy scent that I didn't really expect -- I thought it will smell like watermelons. It's a translucent and viscous liquid that leaves a moisturizing film on the skin. Sinks in pretty quick, without being sticky. I like the glass-skin effect it gives my skin whenever I use it.

Retails for 1200 pesos but usually on sale for 20% off.

Price: P820

Nacific Pink AHA BHA Cream

Contains AHA, BHA, 70% Watermelon Extract, Pink Calamine, Hyaluronic Acid. Personally haven't tried the cream yet though.

Retails for 1300 pesos but usually on sale for 20% off.

Price: P830
